mrs. geraldean j. combs

 

Mrs. Geraldean J. Combs, age 92, of Bitter Creek Place Blairsville, formerly of Palmetto and Bradenton, FL passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Combs was born on Jan. 7, 1913 in Littlestown, PA, the daughter of the late Paul Masonheimer and the late Molly Rider Masonheimer.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Russel (“Doc”) Combs in 1963.  Mrs. Combs was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Union County.

Surviving Mrs. Combs are one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Langman of Blairsville, four sons and daughters-in-law, Alton and Sue Combs of Twin River, MN, Russell and Ann Combs of Bradenton, FL, Paul and Charlotte Combs of New Port Ritchie, FL, Charles and Celeste Combs of Brooksville, FL, one brother, Buddy Masonheimer of Palmetto, FL, seventeen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service and interment will be held from the Skyway Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Palmetto, FL at a later date and will be announced.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Humane Society Mountain Shelter or to the First United Methodist Church of Union County in Mrs. Combs memory.

annie white

 

Mrs. Annie White, age 84 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Union General Hospital.

Mrs. White was born Saturday, January 15, 1921 in Clay County, NC a daughter of the late Turn and Leana Jane (Hunter) Gibson.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.  Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Byrd White.

Survivors include: son, Kenneth White of Dahlonega, GA, daughter, Betty Taylor of Newnan, GA, sister, Irene Vandiver of Blairsville, GA, sister, Opal Dyer of Blairsville, GA, brother, Jack Gibson of Blairsville, GA, brother, Terry Gibson of Hiawassee, GA, brother, V. C. McClure of Hiawassee, GA, granddaughter, Charity White, grandson, Sterling White, granddaughter, Victoria Pelley, granddaughter, Rebecca Taylor, grandson, Joshua Taylor, granddaughter, Lexie McCullough.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Harley Hunter, Rev. Jerry Young officiating.  Music was provided by Kenneth and Elaine Young.  Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Wesley Gibson, Kent Dyer, Eddie Dyer, Troy Dyer, Perry Dyer, David Dyer.

Mrs. Gail Clark, age 59, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Union county Nursing Home.  Mrs. Clark was born Tuesday, July 16, 1946 in Lumpkin County, Georgia to the late James Anderson and the late Lillie Saine Anderson.

Survivors include: son, Brian Clark, daughter, Kimberly Denise Winters, son, Charles James Clark, Jr., sister, Glenda Clark and grandchildren, Brandon Clark, Cody Clark, Bradley Hart, Carmen Hart, Christopher Clark, Jordan Clark and Nicki Clark.

mr. rouse king

 

Mr. Rouse King, age 87, of Blairsville, Ga, passed away Friday, November 18, 2005 at Union General Hospital.  Mr. King was born Wednesday, April 17, 1918 in Union County, GA to the late Clabe King and the late Kate Dyer King.  Mr. King was a member of Old Union Baptist Church and was a WWII Army Veteran.  He as preceded in death by parents, his wife, Cleo Nix King, grandson, Matthew King and granddaughter, Mickey Mitchell.

Survivors include son, Johnny King, daughter, Shirley Mitchell, brothers, Cecil King, Ford King, Sam King; sisters, Northa Brown, Hazel Dyer, Lucille Collins and Irene Seabolt, all of Blairsville, GA; grandchildren, Angie Bridges, Robin Seabolt, Curtis King, Chris King, Daniel King and Buddy King and great grandchildren, Brett Bridges, Josh Bridges, Gracie Seabolt, Jordan Hensley, Cody King, and Megan King.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Avery Beavers officiating.  Interment followed in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Curtis King, Aubrey Dyer, Freddie Collins, Arlen King, Gene Bridges and Brett Bridges.
