james kevin beavers

 

Mr. James Kevin Beavers, age 43, of East Culberson Road, Blairsville passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2004 in Dalton following an extended illness.  Mr. Beavers was born on October 18, 1961 in Cherokee County, NC, the son of the late Hancel Beavers and the late Viola Forrister Beavers.  He was a lifelong resident of Union County.  Mr. Beavers was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Beavers are four sisters and three brothers-in-law; Ann and Melvin Dyer of Dalton, Mary Lou Drake of Blairsville, Lethie and Harold Hedrick of Dalton, Patsy and Clarence Stewart of Blairsville; an aunt, Dorothy Morgan of Murphy; eleven nieces and nephews, eighteen great nieces and nephews, one special great niece, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Mashburn officiating.  Special music was presented by the Mashburn family.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Lon Pendergrass, David Rhodes, Nick Taylor, Matt Taylor, Shane Pendergrass, Bill Stewart, Joey Taylor and Dakota Stamey.  Interment followed in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

miss linda kay mauney

 

Miss Linda Kay Mauney, age 58, of Gainesville, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2004 in the North East Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.  Miss Mauney was born on June 21, 1945 in Union County, the daughter of the late Charles Mauney and the late Thelma Teague Mauney.  Miss Mauney was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Miss Mauney are several relatives and also many friends in the Gainesville area.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 12 p.m. from the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Taylor officiating.  Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 767 Oglethorp Ave., Athens, GA 30606 in Miss Mauney’s memory.

mr. lewis gebhardt

 

Mr. Lewis Gebhardt, age 88, of Old Sullivan Road, Blairsville, formerly of Winterhaven, FL, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2004 at his home following a brief illness.  Mr. Gebhardt was born on March 21, 1916 in Hamburg, NY.  He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Vogt Gebhardt.  Mr. Gebhardt was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church.

Surviving Mr. Gebhardt are two sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis and Marcia Gebhardt of Blairsville, Peter and Lana Gebhardt of Winterhaven, FL, one sister, Gerrie Buffum of Virginia, four grandchildren, Jason and Jeffrey Gebhardt both of Tallahassee, FL, Matthew and Corey Gebhardt both of Winterhaven, FL, two great grandchildren, Paige and Alli Gebhardt, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services and interment will be held from the Lakeside Cemetery in Winterhaven, FL at a later date and will be announced.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice in Mr. Gebhardt’s memory.
