Mr.
Jewell W. Whitmore, age 78, of
Mr.
Whitmore was born was born in Union County, Georgia on Tuesday, June 9, 1925, a son of the late James Gordon Whitmore and Rebecca Bethenie
Poteete Whitmore. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II and served in the European Theatre, receiving a
Purple Heart. Mr. Whitmore was a member
of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American
Veterans. He lived most of his life in
this area and was a cattle farmer. A
