Blairsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Billie and Danny Young of
Blairsville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Chris and Charles Yarborough
of Gray, GA and Ruby Norton of Eatonton, GA; four grandchildren, Robin and Tim
Deaver, Kyle and Kacie Young, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mr.
Charlie Fortenberry age 72 of Canupp Dr. Blairsville, passed away on Friday,
December 1, 2000 in the Chatuge Regional Hospital following an extended
illness. Mr. Fortenberry was born on
June 7, 1928 in Fannin County, the son of the late Thomas Harrelson Fortenberry
and the late Phena Milsaps Fortenberry.
He was a lifelong resident of Union County and was of the Methodist
faith. He was preceded in death by three
sisters, Alma Townsend, Bessie Sosebee, and Elbe Fortenberry, and three
brothers, Clint, Frank, and Freddie Fortenberry.
Surviving
Mr. Fortenberry are two sisters, Bertie Mae Davis of Detroit, MI., and Virginia
Dyer also of Detroit, several nieces and nephews. Many other relative and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Sunday, December 3, 2000 from the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Willis Garrett and Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Special music was presented by Randy and
Tammy Hughes and Jessica Miller. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers:
Leonard Sosebee, Joe Sosebee, Robert Sosebee, Jimmy Townsend, Mike
Jenkins and Gary Jenkins. Interment
followed in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.
