Rev.
Clarence C. Tritt, age 90 of 5985 Hwy. 60 North, Suches, Georgia, died
Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, GA
following an extended illness.
Rev.
Tritt was a native of Madison County, GA who had lived in Suches most of his
life. He was a retired Baptist minister,
farmer and sawmiller. During a 45 year
span he pastured a number of churches including Philadelphia Baptist Church,
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church #2 and Pine Top Baptist
Church. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church #2 in Suches, GA.
He was
the son of the late William Bartow and Pearl David Tritt and was preceded in
death by his wife, Mae McDougald Tritt, brother, Melvin Tritt and sister, Treva
Barton.
He is
survived by son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Pat Tritt of Marietta, GA;
daughters and son-in-laws, Katherine and Jim Norris of Dahlonega, GA, Betty and
Frank Davis of Mabelton, GA, brother, Rev. Donald Tritt of Lula, GA; sisters
and brother-in-law, Ruby Pierce of Slater, SC, Grace Robertson of Gainesville,
GA, Birdell Lunsford of Suches, GA, Ella Mae Beach of Duluth, GA, Jean and
Walter Edge of Suches, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Dale Norris, Evangeline,
and Jeff Voss, Lucinda D. and Tim Helton, Leslie and Stuart VanHoozer, Dana T.
McDonald, and Michelle and Pat Angel; great grandchildren, Ava Voss, Andy Voss,
Jessie VanHoozer, Luke VanHoozer, Corey Helton, Rebecca Helton, Kaitlyn Helton,
Alexia and Austin. Numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church #2 in Suches. Rev.
William Phillips, David Barton, Rev. Donald Tritt, and Dr. Don Pruitt
officiating. Interment followed in the
church cemetery.
In lieu
of flowers please make donations to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church #3 Building
Fund;.

Mr.
Edward Eugene Davis, age 82 of Blairsville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday,
December 2, 2003 at his home.
Mr. Davis
was born in Union County, Georgia on Wednesday, November 23, 1921, a son of the
late Charles Harvey Davis and Alice Rich Davis.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a heavy machine gunner who
fought in the European Theatre and The Battle of the Bulge. For his distinguished military service, he
received a Bronze Star. Mr. Davis was a
lifelong resident of Union County, and a poultry farmer. He attended New Harmony Baptist Church, and
had been preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Spivey, in 1994.
Surviving
are son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jessie Davis; daughter and son-in-law,
Lynn and Dan Powell, all of Blairsville; three sisters, Beulah Davis of
Blairsville, Ellaree Fortenberry of Clermont, GA, and Geneva Chastain of
Blairsville; two grandchildren, Micole McCreadie and Katrina Killian; two great
grandchildren, Mitchell Anderson and Brittany McCreadie; several nieces,
nephews, and many friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Beavers officiating. Special music was presented by Lora Fox and
Debra Lynn Garrett. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Harold Henderson, Anceberry Burnette, Ernest
Rice, Shane Heddings, Pete Fortenberry, and Hervey Davis. Military honors were presented by North
Georgia Honor Guard. Burial was in New
Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bud
Dehler, age 73 of Blairsville, GA passed away on Friday, December 5 at his home
following an extended illness.
Mr.
Dehler was born on December 20, 1929, in Jamaica, New York, the son of the late
Henry Dehler and Sophie Heilman Dehler.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 1948 to 1952. Mr. Dehler moved to Miami, Florida in the
early 60’s and worked as a police officer in the city of Golden Beach, then as
a Detective with the city of Miami. He
worked as a Federal Government Sky Marshall to protect commercial flights from
hijackings. He became a Federal Customs
Patrol Officer in 1959 and retired as Major with customs in 1981, at which time
be moved to lake Wales, Florida. He
became a Guardian Ad Litem, as an officer of the court to protect children’s
rights in the court system.
Mr.
Dehler moved to Blairsville, Georgia in 1997, where he became a member of St.
Clare’s Episcopal Church. He has long
been an advocate for the care of homeless animals, and could often be found
feeding strays in town. He was a member
of national Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Rifle
Association.
Surviving
Mr. Dehler is his wife of 22 years, Carol Williams Dehler; a son and
daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kimberly Kivi of Miami, Florida, a son and
daughter-in-law, John and Coletta Kivi of Orlando, Florida, and two grandsons,
Jonathan Kivi and Kyle Kivi. He is also
survived by a brother and sister-in-law, George and Andrea Dehler of Long
Island, New York and a brother, Robert Dehler of Long Beach, New York. Many other friends and relatives also
survive.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clare’s
Episcopal Church with the Reverend Susan Johnson officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers,
memorials be made to the Humane Society Mountain Shelter, 2079 Bowling Gap
Circle, Blairsville, GA 30512 on Mr. Dehler’s memory.

Mr.
Ronald Allen Heider, age 45 of Wren Drive, Blairsville passed away on Thursday,
December 4, 2003 at his home following a brief illness.
Mr.
Heider was born on March 26, 1958 in Dundee, IL, the son of Ronald Joseph
Heider and Margaret Collett Heider. Mr.
Heider was an electrician by trade and had been living in Union County for the
past eight years, moving here from Roswell.
Mr. Heider was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving
Mr. Heider are two sons, Robert Heider of Blairsville, William Heider of
Blairsville; father and mother Ronald and Margaret Heider of McDonough; two
brothers and sister-in-laws, Rick and Judith Heider of Petal, MS, Donald and
Holly Heider of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Janice and
Bruce Carter of McDonough, Debra Butler of Lass Vegas, Mary Hill of Panama
City, FL, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial
services were held on Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Mike Hardy officiating.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials be
made to the Diabetes Foundation in Mr. Heider’s memory.

Mr.
William P. (Bill) Landers, age 50, of Blairsville, formerly of Forsyth County,
passed away on Monday, December 1, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Landers, Sr.
Survivors
include his mother and stepfather, Blanche and Donald Anderson of Forsyth
County; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene and Caroline Landers of Blairsville
and Vince Landers of Forsyth County; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and
Dudley Rowland of Marietta; step brothers, Paul, Charlie and Peter Anderson,
nieces and nephews, Jason, Milton and Pauline Landers, Vincent, Rachael and
Wesley Landers; also a number of other relatives survive.
A
memorial service was held on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Ingram Funeral Home
in Cumming, Georgia.
