mrs. michelle dyer smith

Mrs. Michelle Dyer Smith, age 30, of the Gainesville Hwy. Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 10, 1999 in the Georgia Baptist Hospital following a brief illness.  Mrs. Smith was born on May 8, 1969 in Union County, the daughter of Lonnie Edgar Dyer and Glenda Hunter Dyer.  She was a life long resident of union County and a lifetime member of Youngstown Baptist Church and also a foundling member of the New Life Covenant Fellowship Church of Blairsville.  Mrs. Smith was a substitute teacher for the past ten years with Union County School System.  She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jewell and Irene Dyer and her maternal grandmother Sue Hunter.

Surviving Mrs. Smith re her husband, Billy S. Smith, of Blairsville, one son, Andrew Michael Smith; one daughter, Faith Noelle Smith, both of the home; father, Lonnie E. Dyer, of Blairsville; mother, Glenda Hunter Dyer, of Blairsville; two brothers, David and Lamar Dyer, both of Blairsville; grandfather, Frank Hunter of Blairsville; one niece, Ansley Young; two nephews, Austin and Tyler Dyer, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 12, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Chapman and the Rev. Randy Hughes officiating.  Special music was presented by Scott Lance and Kim Thomas and Robby Hays.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearer, Charlie Studebaker, Gene McDonald, Tim Dyer, Eddie Self, Steve Hunter, and Jerry Hunter.  Interment followed in the Old Union Cemetery in Young Harris.
