Mr.
Julian
Lewis Grant III, age 57, of Brown Ridge Drive, Blairsville, passed away
on
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta following an
extended
illness. Mr. Grant was born on Jan. 5,
1952 in Miami, FL, the son of the late Julian Grant, Jr. and Martha
Jean Dillard
Grant. Julian liked working with people
in NA to help them get their lives back on the right track. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather
and great grandfather. Mr. Grant
attended the Blairsville Church of God.
Surviving Mr.
Grant are his loving wife, Rhonda Davidson Grant of Blairsville, mother
Martha
Jean Dillard Grant of Ft. Myers, FL, six children, Charlotte Grant and
partner
Katrina Frierson of Nashville, TN; Julian IV and Ashley Grant of
Blairsville,
Lori and Rob Paul of Pinkard, AL, Shaun Grant of Blairsville, Donnie
DeLong of
Atlanta, Amanda Christy and Steven Beaver of Blairsville, one sister
and
brother-in-law, Cathee and Judge Ford of Arcadia, FL, two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Tim and Della Grant of Morganton, GA, Mark and Sharon
Grant of
Ft. Myers, FL, special friends, Holly Albietz, Amanda Patterson, both
of
Blairsville, Amanda Mosher of Mineral Bluff, eight grandchildren,
riley, Kala,
Kanishea, Destiny, Julian V, Brian, Nick, Lanna and Kewanna, one great
grandchild, Shaide, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Chapel with the Rev. Leon McDonald officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Timmy Grant, Steven Beaver,
Kevin Frierson
and Dewayne Melton. The family met with
friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m.
In lieu of

Joyce
Eller Perry went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday,
December 9,
2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 26, 1957 to Edward Eller and the late Rose
Marie
Hunter Eller. Joyce was a cherished
wife, daughter, sister, friend and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and
friends. Joyce enjoyed traveling,
wildlife, nature, photography, hiking, snow skiing and spending time
with
family and friends. Joyce worked with
her husband Steve in their family business, Certified Cleaning Care. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose
Marie Eller.
Surviving family
members are loving husband, Steve Perry of
Blairsville, GA, father Edward Eller of Hiawassee, GA, sister, Joan
Long of
Hiawassee, GA, sister Judy Carpenter of Blairsville, GA, and brother
Jerry
Eller of Hiawassee, GA. Although Joyce had
no children she was a second mother to nieces, Tracy Cann, Melinda
Nichols,
Melanie Coffey, Jennifer Burrell and nephews Jeremy Eller and Michael
Long. Joyce was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral
services were held at 2 PM on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Cochran
Funeral
Home Chapel in Hiawassee, GA with Rev. Glen Eller.
Interment was the Upper Hightower Baptist
Church cemetery.
The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Jerry Eller,
Jeremy Eller, Roger Dotson, Gary Cann, Tim Coffey and Shannon Burrell. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Perry,
Travis Nichols, Tommy Wynn, Charles Dotson, Robert Sexton, Denny Stone,
Robert
Jackson and Wayne topper.

Mrs.
Corinne Beaver Hogsed, age 88, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday,
December
8, 2009, at her home.
Mrs.
Hogsed was born in Union County, Georgia, on Wednesday,
June 8, 1921, a daughter of the late Monroe Burnett and Dessie Collins
Burnett. She was a member of Ivy Log
Baptist Church and the Retired Teacher’s Association.
Corinne was preceded in death by her first
husband, Charles Beaver; and brothers, Monroe Junior Burnett, and
Durane
Burnett; and parents, Monroe and Dessie Burnett.
Surviving
family members include her husband, Herman Hogsed, of Blairsville;
daughter,
Linda Beaver of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Susan
Beaver of
Blairsville; step-daughter and husband, Sandra Hogsed and Bill Carl of
Palm
Bay, Florida; brother and sister-in-law Billy and Frankie Burnett, of
Gaston,
Alabama; grandsons: John Charles Berry and Lee Beaver; granddaughters:
Eartha
Lee and Sara Elaine Currie; step-grandsons: Jonathan Carl, Richard
Taylor Tate
and Clay Tate; great granddaughter: Hannah Clare Currie; great grandson
Ian
Carter Berry; several nieces and nephews also survive, along with many
friends.
Funeral
services were held Friday, December 11, 2009, at 1 p.m. from the Ivy
Log
Baptist church, where the body lay in state at the church from 12:30
p.m. until
1 p.m. Officiating were Rev. Jerry
Karnes, rev. Tony black, and Dr. Don Pruitt and music
was provided by Ken and Elaine
Young. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Lee Beaver, Melvin Harper, Junior Hogsed, Harold Ledford,
T.J.
Plott and Michael Thompson. Burial was
in Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Betty
Jean Mann, age 78 of Wesley Mtn. Drive, Blairsville passed away on
Tuesday,
Dec. 8, 2009 in the Union General Hospital following an extended
illness. Mrs. Mann was born on Nov. 11,
1931 in
Meriwether County, GA, the daughter of the late Arthur H. Minter and
the late
Irene Bridges Minter. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Ferney Van Buren Mann in 2001.
Mrs. Mann was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mrs.
Mann are one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Bill Runion of
Hayesville, NC,
two sons and daughters-in-law, Van and Cindy Mann of Fayetteville, GA,
Sean and
Melissa Mann of Talladega, AL, one sister, Shirley Stewart of
McDonough, GA,
three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lowell Minter of Canton, Leon
and Grace
Minter of Griffin, Larry and Hallene Minter of Fayetteville, seven
grandchildren,
Matthew Gilley, Danielle Costarides, Jessica Mann, Courtney Epps,
Nathan Mann,
Blain Mann and Alyssa Mann, many other relatives and friends also
survive.
Graveside
services were held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 1 p.m. from the camp
Memorial
park Cemetery in Fayetteville. In lieu

Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in memory of Mrs. Mann.
