Funeral
services were scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the
memorial
park Funeral Home Chapel for Pearl Elliott, age 78, of 2907 Outer
Circle,
Gainesville.
The Rev.
Gary Osteen and the Rev. Charlie Fultz officiated.
Burial was in Mount Zion Baptist Church
Cemetery.
Mrs.
Elliott died Sunday, November 30, 1997 at Northeast Georgia Medical
center
following a sudden illness.
Mrs.
Elliott was born in Union County and moved to
Gainesville in 1972. She was a homemaker
and member of Lebanon Baptist Church.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and
Lena Towe;
husband, Robert Kiser Elliott; and sons, Glover Elliott and Anthony
Elliott.
Survivors
include sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn D. and Marie Elliott of
Suches, J.D.
and Pat Elliott of Gainesville, and Robert Charles and Joan Elliott of
Rome;
sisters, Mae Davis of Gainesville, and Isabelle water of Blue Ridge;
brothers,
Melvin Towe, L.J. Towe, Franklin Towe, Harold Towe, J. Edward Towe,
Tommy Towe,
Jr., all of Gainesville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and
a number
of nieces and nephews.

Buck
Burns, age 73, of Union County, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December
10,
1997.
Mr. Burns was born in
Union County, Georgia on March 5, 1924, a son of the late Allen Burns
and Edna
Plott Burns. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army and served during World War II.
He lived most of his life in this area and attended Choestoe
Baptist
Church.
Surviving
are his wife, Genell Dyer Burns, of the home; stepson, Terry Waver of
Young
Harris; and stepson Keith Nichols of Blairsville; six step
grandchildren also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, December 12, 1997 at 4 p.m. from the chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. James Geer and Rev.
Lester Sutton
officiating. Special music was presented
by the Faith Singers and Mrs. Jo Mosley.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers:
Harold Dyer, Billy Bierce, Larry Shuler,
Allen Burns, John Davis and Junior Greason.
The following gentlemen served as Honorary Escort to the family:
Olin
Hughes, Bill Goforth, Claude Burns, and Worth Hughes.
Interment was in Union Memory Gardens

H.P.
Mull, age 77, of Cartersville, Georgia, formerly of Culberson, N.C. and
Union
County, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 1997 in Cartersville.
Mr. Mull
was born December 3, 1920 in Ramhurst, Georgia, a son of the late Mark
mull and
Esther Long Mull. He was a World War II
veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Mull was a
retired welder and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church and of My Heart
Masonic
Lodge, in Kennesaw, GA.
Surviving
are his wife, Ruth Robinson Mull of Blairsville; son, Bill Hayes of
Payson,
Utah; son, T.J. Hayes of Marietta, GA.; daughter, Linda Mull Gossett of
Cartersville, GA.; and son Mark Mull of Blairsville; sister, Edith
Grantham of
Knoxville, TN.; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, December 11, 1997 at 2 p.m. from the
chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Don Hood officiating. Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine
Young. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Clyde Daniel, John
Thompson, Eddie Charles, Larry Patterson, Joe Douglas, and Jerry
Gilreath. Interment was in Bethlehem
Baptist Church

Mr.
Coleman Nix, age 90, of 40 Maynard Street, Winder, Georgia passed away
Saturday, December 13, 1997 after an extended illness.
Mr. Nix was born January
12, 1907 in Union County. He was a
member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Braselton.
He was the son of the late Jim and Ruthie
Hunter Nix. He was retired from the
logging industry. He was preceded in
death by his wife Jessie Daniel Nix.
Survivors
include 7 daughters, Key Robinson of Young Harris,
Lila Lee of Auburn, Mae Brown of Braselton, Jean Gooch of Braselton,
Teresa
McDaniel of Monroe, Blondean Gooch of Braselton, Lorraine Hanson of
Braselton;
son, James Nix of Hoschton; 35 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 3
great
great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, December 15, 1997 from the Church of the
Lord Jesus
Christ, Rev. G.H. Hammond and Rev. Tommy Baker officiated.
Interment was in Braselton Church of God of
Prophecy Cemetery.

Mrs.
Gretchen Nix, age 77, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday,
December 9,
1997 in Northeast Georgia Medical center in Gainesville.
Mrs. Nix
was born in Lapeer County, Michigan, on January 11,
1920. She had lived in this area since
1980, coming here from Newark, Delaware.
Surviving
are her husband, Harrison Nix, of Blairsville; daughter, Beverly Wilson
of
Coshada, Louisiana; son, Duayne Green of Tennessee; daughter, Martha
Bumstead
of Flint, Michigan; step-0daughter, Vyna Fredrick of Coravallis,
Oregon;
step0son, Paul Nix of Blairsville; step-son Charles Nix of San Jose,
CA.; and
step-son Lewis Nix of West Port, Tennessee; 23 grandchildren and 17
great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, December 12, 1997 at 2 p.m. from the chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Benny Nix officiating. The following gentlemen served as
