Mr.
Joseph John Smith, age 83, of
Mr. Smith
was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II both in
the
European and African Theatre. He was
also a veteran of The Korean War. Mr.
Smith was a representative of an electronics manufacturing firm. He and his wife had lived in Blairsville for
approximately two years. Mr. Smith was of
the Catholic faith.
Survivors
include his wife, Peggy, of their home; three daughters: Janet Smith,
of
Melbourne, FL; Gerry MacLeod, of Lawrenceville, GA; Cathy Stewart, of
Marshall,
NC; and two sons: Joseph Smith, of Middleburg, FL; and William Smith,
of
Blairsville; sister, Rita Daniels, of Maple Shade, NJ; three brothers:
Phillip
and Francis of Maple Shade and Jack of Camden, NJ; 9 grandchildren and
3 great
grandchildren also survive.

are scheduled for Sat., Dec. 221, 2002, at

Metcalf Morse, age 93, of
Surviving
Mrs. Morse are one son and daughter in law, George and Pat Morse of
Morganton,

Downergrove, IL, Michael McDonald of Wells, ME; two nieces, Captain Fay
Wray of
Silver Dale, WA, Mary Louise Davis of Meredith, NH; grandchildren, Gary

Morse of Blairsville, Gail Berry of Corinth, ME, Gwen Libby of Windham,
ME,
George Morse Jr. of Apopka, FL, James Morse of Winter Park, FL; several

and great great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also

Memorial services
were held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002 at 2:00 pm from the Funeral Home
Chapel
with the rev. Tom McElroy officiating. Special
music was presented by Dorothy Pickelsimer, and Hubert Legg. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests that memorials may be made to Brannon Lodge in Mrs. Morse’s
memory. Interment will follow in the
Mountain
View Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of the arrangements.
