Mrs.
Ethel S. Nichols, 82, of Acworth, Georgia, formerly of Blairsville,
Georgia
passed away Saturday, December 16, 1995 in Kennestone Hospital in
Marietta. Mrs. Nichols was born in Polk
County, Tennessee on April 4, 1913, a daughter of the late Tom Shell
and Rena
Carver Shell. She had lived most of her
life in Union County, and was a member of New Union Baptist church. (sic). Mrs. Nichols
was a very loving and giving person who will be missed by all who knew
her.
Surviving
are two daughters, Charlotte Giles of Blairsville and Rebecca Ann
Prater of
Grundy, Va.; two sons, Joe Nichols of Covington, Georgia, and William
Daniel
Nichols of Acworth; a brother, Ernest Shell of Michigan and a sister,
Viola
Tritt of Suches, Ga.; twelve grandchildren: Gail Ann Adams, of
Blairsville; Dianne
Donaldson, of Grundy, Va; Wayne Adams, of Young Harris, Ga.; Donald
Adams of
Tennessee; Melinda Prater of Grundy, Va.; David Nichols, Frank Nichols,
and Jo
Ann Carrolll (sic), all of Covington, Ga.; William Edwin Nichols, of
Iuka,
Mississippi; Jerrie Lynn Munster of Alpharetta; Charles Brand, of
Acworth, Ga.;
and Romana Bray of Holly Springs, Ga.,; twenty great grandchildren and
one
great great grandchild also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, December 19, 1995 at 2:00 PM from New Union
Baptist
Church with Rev. Wayne Daniels and Rev. Ned Wilcoxin, and Rev. Paul
Vance
officiating. Specially selected music
was presented by Gloria Griggs. The
following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Donald Adams, Wayne Adams, David
Nichols,
Frank Nichols, Charles Brand, William Nichols, and Rocky Holbrooks. Interment was in New Union Baptist Church
Cemetery. Cochran Funeral Home of
Blairsville in charge of arrangements.

mrs. hedwig weikenstorfer reichert
Mrs.
Hedwig W. Reichert, 91, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday,
December
14, 1995 at her home.
Mrs.
Reichert had lived in Blairsville for the past two
years with her daughter and son in law.
She was of the Catholic Faith, and was a native and citizen of
Germany.
Survivors
include daughter and son in law, Anna and Ray
Stinton, of Blairsville; daughter, Renate Compton, of Sarasota,
Florida; four
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside
services were held Sunday, December 17, 1995 at 1:00 PM from Union
Memory
Gardens Cemetery with Father Patrick Donaghey officiating.

Mr.
James William Franklin, 67, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Monday,
December 18, 1995.
Mr. Franklin was born in
Union County, Georgia, on April 20, 1928, a son of Alfred Garfield
Franklin and
Lillie L. Payne Franklin. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.
Mr. Franklin was a lifelong resident of this
area and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lillie
Payne Franklin, and a sister, Pearl Franklin.
Surviving
are his father, Alfred Garfield Franklin, of Blairsville; sons, William
G.
Franklin, Steven A. Franklin, and James W. Franklin, III, all of
Blairsville;
daughters; Debora (sic) McCarter, of Jacksonville, Florida, Rhonda
Franklin, of
Athens, Ga., and Tammy Reece, of Blairsville; a sister, Marie Ford of
Blairsville; two brothers, Jeff Franklin, and Eugene Franklin, all of
Blairsville; nine grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, December 21, 1995 at 2:00 PM from the
chapel of
the Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Ford officiating. Special
music was presented by Hubert and
Betty Legg. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Terry Franklin, Keith Ford, Danny Payne, John
Payne,
Phillip Ford, and Michael Ford. Interment
was in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with graveside military
honors
presented by members of the North Georgia Honor Guard.
