MR. ted demsey burns


Mr. Ted Demsey Burns, age 63, of Elijah Payne Circle, Blairsville passed away on Thursday evening, April 12, 2001 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  Mr. Burns was born on May 19, 1937 in Union county, the son of the late Jessie Dennis Burns and the late Lula Seabolt Burns.  He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association and was an Airforce veteran.  He was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Burns was a native and lifelong resident of Union County.

Surviving Mr. Burns are his loving wife, Cheryl Burns of Blairsville; two daughters, Tiea Southerland of Hiawassee, and Tonya Oneal of Blairsville; three sons, Johnny and Joey Burns of Hiawassee and Jason Oneal of Blairsville; two brothers, Gerald and Earl Burns, both of Dawsonville; aunt, Effie Colwell of Blairsville; cousins: Blanch Candler and Patsy Davenport, both of Blairsville; two grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Waymon Lovell officiating.  Special music was presented by Dorothy Pickelsimer.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Kenneth Kimbril, G. L. Franklin, Bud Nichols, Mark Burrell, James Burrell, and Craig Davenport.  Graveside services were conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.  Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.
