Silvina Carbine, 89, of Blairsville, GA died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Beverly Nursing Home.  She was born on January 22, 1912 in New York City, NY, the daughter of Osvaldo Ros and Gloria Martinez Ros.

Her survivors include two sons: Dudley Noll of Marshall, NC and Richard Noll of Winter Haven, FL; one daughter; Valerie Noll, West of Horseshoe Bay, TX; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Brannan Lodge, Blairsville, GA on Saturday, May 5, 2001 at 2 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

MR. luther n. “L.N.” wilkins

 

Mr. Luther N. “L.N.” Wilkins, age 76 of 8160 Knight Rd. Gainesville, GA died Thursday May 3, 2001 at the Northeast Ga. Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following an extended illness.

Mr. Wilkins was born and raised in Suches, GA.  He lived in Detroit, Michigan for many years where he retired from the Uniroyal Tire Company.  He had lived in Forsyth County for the past 20 years.  He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Suches.

He was the son of the late John M. and Mary Jane Woody Wilkins and was also preceded in death by two brothers and eight sisters.

He is survived by his wife Dollie Wilkins, Gainesville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law: Wendell and Pat Wilkins, Titusville, FL, Lowell and Robbie Wilkins, Suches, GA, Stanley and Lynn Hicks, Cumming, GA, Anthony and Brandie Hicks, Gainesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Deb and Ken Germaine, Columbiaville, MI, Deidre “Dee” Wilkins, Warren, MI, Candace “Candie” and Brian Bywater, Riverside, CA. Annette and Len Land, Murrayville, GA. Sarah and Richard Parker, Gainesville, GA; brother; J. M. Wilkins, Suches, GA; sisters: Mattie Garcia, St. Clair Shores, MI, Ora Woody, Lapeer, MI, 21 grandchildren, 2 greatchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2001 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA, with the Rev. Roger Townley, Rev. Jay Bryant and Rev. Ray Flanagan officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woody-Wilkins Cemetery in Suches, GA.
