Mrs. Ila
Mae Helton Weaver, age 82, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, July
29, 2000, in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs.
Weaver was born in Union County, Georgia on Thursday, July 24, 1919, a daughter
of the late Homer Helton and Lillie Woody Helton. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident
of this area. Mrs. Weaver was a member
of Fairview Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Weaver, in 1989.
Survivors
include four sons: parks Weaver, of Thomasville, Georgia; James Weaver, of
Dalton, Georgia, Dennis Weaver and Boyd Weaver, both of Blairsville, Georgia;
five brothers: Claude Helton and Clarence Helton, both of Blairsville; Carl
Helton, Calvin Helton and Clayton Helton, all of Gainesville; fifteen
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, July 31, 2000 at 2 p.m. from Cochran Funeral Home
Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Jones and Rev. Horace Potts officiating. Special music was presented by The House of
Prayer Church Choir. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Tim and
Travis Weaver, James and Nicholas Weaver, Ward Ogburn, and Terry Helton. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Baptist
Church.
