Mrs.
Blanche Brooksher Gilreath, age 94, of Johnny Gap Road, Suches, GA.,
died
Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in
Dahlonega, GA.,
following an extended illness.
Mrs.
Gilreath was a native and lifelong resident of Union County, was a
homemaker
and member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Union County.
She was
the daughter of the late Wiley and Maude Grizzle Brooksher and was also
preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Hershel Gilreath;
brother
and sister-in-law, Bruce and Forrestine Brooksher.
Mrs.
Gilreath is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Bob
Carder,
Dahlonega, GA; brother, Edward Brooksher, Suches, GA; brother-in-law
and sister
in law, Carl and Eldine Gilreath, Suches, GA; sister-in-law, Nora
Sullens,
Gainesville, GA.; several other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2003 at the
Banister
Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church #2
Cemetery in
Union County.
Banister
Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.

MRS. WANDA DELORES ROGERS JOHNSON
Mrs.
Wanda Delores Rogers Johnson, age 49 of Tanyard Court, Blairsville
passed away
on Thursday, July 31, 2003 in Union General Hospital following an
extended
illness.
Mrs.
Johnson was born December 4, 1953 in Kings Mountain, NC, the daughter
of the
late Julius W. Rogers and the late Bertha L. McDaniel Rogers. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Blairsville
Family Worship Center.
Surviving
Mrs. Johnson are one son, Michael Kevin Johnson of Gastonia, NC; one
daughter,
Clara Michelle Byers of Blue Ridge, GA; one sister, Doris Head of
Shelby, NC;
two grandchildren, Kayla Byers and Brittany Coffman, many other
relatives and
friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 11 a.m. from the
Blairsville
Christian Center with the Rev. Bill Shaffer officiating.
Special music was presented by Sarah
Kelley. The following gentlemen served
as pallbearers, Wofford Kelley and Kenneth White. Interment
followed in the Blairsville City
Cemetery.

Mr. Louis
“Johnny” Guzman, age 75, of Bradley Road in Blairsville, formerly of
Albany,
passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2003 in the Union General Hospital
following
a brief illness. Mr. Guzman was born on
Jun e 21, 1928 in Quaro, TX. He was a
Veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a Tech Sergeant for
twenty two
years. He also had been employed with
the Firestone Company in Albany for over seventeen years.
He was President of the Widows and Widowers
Group and also the Southern Methodist in Albany. Mr.
Guzman attended the New Hope Fellowship
Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mr. Guzman are his loving wife, Carol Musselwhite Guzman, of
Blairsville; one
daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bill Lambert of Albany; two
grandchildren,
Roger Harden and Andrea Conley, both of Albany; many other relatives
and
friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 2:00 PM from the
Chapel of
the Kimbrell Stern Funeral Home in Albany with the Rev. Leon McDonald,
Rev.
Elbert Ostein and Rev. Medford Johnson officiating.
Special music was presented by Alice
McDonald. Interment followed in the
Crown Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
