MRS.
desma margaret collins dover
Mrs.
Desma Margaret Collins Dover, age 92, of Richard Russell Hay. Blairsville,
passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2000 in the Mountain View Health Care
Center in Clayton, GA. Following an extended illness. Mrs. Dover was born on July 10, 1908 in Union
County, the daughter of the late Carl Jay Collins and the late Callie Dyer
Collins. She was a native and lifelong
resident of Union County and a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Dover was preceded in death by her
husband, James Rass Dover in 1972 a son, James Wayne Dover in 1998, and a son
in law, Mercer Nix in 1994.
Surviving
Mrs. Dover are one daughter, Arlene Nix, of Flowery Branch, GA., one sister,
Bealah Thomas, of Lemore, CA., three grandchildren, Leon Nix, of Gainesville,
Gail Barrett and Bruce Nix, both of Flowery Branch, three great grandchildren,
Tara Nix, and John and Cynthia Barrett, many other relatives and friends also
survive.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, September 5, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Shocley officiating. Special music was presented by Hubert and
Betty Legg. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Leon Nix, Richard Lockhart, Mike Collins, Julius Collins,
Rick Barrett, Vernon Akins, and Brent Shook.
Interment followed in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Barbara
Ann Jordan Beasley, of Cedartown, GA, fell asleep in Jesus on September 7, 2000
after an extended illness. Barbara was
reared in the Gum Log district of Union County, Georgia. She graduated from Ivy Log Elementary and
Union County High School. She always
enjoyed nature and became an avid student of God’s natural remedies. On a recent trip to Alaska with her husband,
she reveled in the work of God’s creation and abundance of medicinal
herbs. She died with the assurance of
the resurrection.
Barbara
was a member of the Rome Seventy-day Adventist Church. She is survived by her husband Matthew
Beasley and their children, Lowell and Julia all of Cedartown, GA, her parents
Donal and Callie Jordan of Blairsville; four brothers, Ronnie, Arthur and Tony
Jordan, all of Blairsville and Donal, Jr. of Winston, KY. Graveside services and interment were held on
Friday September 8, 2000 at 11 am from the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that
memorial gifts be sent to Three Angels Broadcasting Network, PO Box 220, West
Frankfort, IL 62896 or AMAZING FACTS, PO Box 1058, Roseville, CA 95678-8058. A memorial service was held at Murphy
Seventy-day Adventist Church, Saturday, September 9, at 4 pm.

Mr.
Vaughn Lovell, age 55, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September
3, 2000 in Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee.
Mr.
Lovell was born in Union County, Georgia, on Thursday, September 21, 1944, a
son of the late Ruby Beatrice Barrett Lovell, and Watson Albert Lovell. He was a carpenter and had lived most of his
life in this area. Mr. Lovell was a
member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving
are his wife, Annie Plott Lovell, of the home; his father, Watson Lovell, of
Blairsville; daughters, Cynthia West, of Crestview, FL and Angela Brown, of
Blairsville; step-daughter, Rena Brown, of Blairsville; son, James Lovell, of
China Springs, TX; sisters: Brenda Burnette, of Blairsville; Shirley Lovell, of
Young Harris, GA; and Peggy Garrett, of Cleveland, GA; brothers: Jim Lovell, of
Young Harris; Rev. Waymon Lovell, of Blairsville; Frank Lovell, of Gainesville,
GA and Donald Lovell, of Choctaw Beach, FL; four grandchildren and two step
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, September 5, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Ray Potts officiating. Special music was presented by The Kelly
Trio. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Stephen Lovell, Michael
Lovell, George Burnette, Bill Burnette, Christopher Lovell, and William
Lovell. Serving as honorary escort to
the family were nephews. Interment was
in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Genearle Estelle Frix, age 94, of Blairsville, passed away on Sunday, September
10, 2000 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Frix was born on October 27, 1906 in
Chattanooga, TN., the daughter of the late Samuel Oscar Wolfe and the late Emma
Burns Wolfe. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Dalton.
Surviving
Mrs. Frix are one son, Howard Frix, of Blairsville; one sister, Margerie
Carson, of Chattanooga, TN; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two
great great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive. Memorial services and Interment will be held
in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Little
Brooke Deanna King, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug King of Blairsville,
Georgia passed away Tuesday September 5, 2000 in Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Surviving
are her parents, Douglas and Jeanette Hughes King; a brother, Steven King, and
a sister, Brianna King, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Dennis and
Dorothy Hughes of Blairsville; and paternal grandparents, Rev. Buddy and Peggy
King of Blairsville. Little Brooke was
preceded in death by a brother, Ryan and her paternal grandmother, Betty King.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, September 9, 2000 at 2 pm from the chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Kevin Hughes, Scott Hughes,
Derrick Hughes, Brandon Hughes, Vick Botts, and Pete King.
Interment
was in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms.
lorena mary lavoie webster
Ms.
Lorena Mary Lavoie Webster, age 77, of Wildwater Rd., Blairsville, passed away
on Friday in the Copper Basin Medical Center following an extended
illness. Ms. Webster was born on July
28, 1916 in Berlin, NH. The daughter of
the late Earnest Lavoie and the late Virginia Beaupre Lavoie. She was of the Catholic Faith. Ms. Webster was preceded in death by her
husband, Jake Webster in 1948 and a son, Donald Webster in 1992.
Surviving
Ms. Webster are tow daughters and son in laws, Linda and Art Karmgard, of
Blairsville, and Madeline and Robert Scoda, of Blairsville; one son, John
Webster, of Blairsville; two sisters, Lelia Skinner, of Ft. Myers, FL., and
Diana Sloan, of Lakeland, FL, seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren;
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at 10 a.m. from the Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Honaker officiating. Special music was presented by Mildred
LeCroy. The following grandchildren
served as pallbearers: David Webster, Cheri Perkis, Daniel Webster, Elizabeth
Esarove, Andrew Scoda, Lara Warren, James Warren, and Tracy Sawyer. Interment and graveside services followed at
3 p.m. from the Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
memorials may be made to Union-Towns Flowers Volunteers for the Handicapped, PO
Box 1455 Blairsville.
