
MARRE, Angelo
Born 28, Aug., 1888 in Columbus, KY (he always thought he was born in Memphis, TN)
He was inducted into the US Army at Clinton, KY (Hickman Co.) on Feb. 27, 1918-he resided in Columbus, KY at the time.
He served with the 159th Depot Brigade, 84th Infantry Division from time of induction until April 10, 1918 at Camp Zachary Taylor, KY (near Louisville)-then he was transferred on Oct. 6, 1918 to serve with CO. D, 355th Infantry
Regiment, 178th Infantry Brigade, 89th Infantry Brigade. This unit was stationed at Camp Mills, New York during May, 1918. In June 1918, the 355th embarked from Hoboken, New Jersey for services in Europe. He served in the Argonne Forest (mostly picking up dead bodies in an ambulance). Private Marre served overseas from Sept. 4th, 1918 until April 15, 1919. From Oct. 6, 1918, until he was honorably discharged, he served with Co. D, 362 Infantry Regiment, 181st Infantry Brigade, 91st Infantry Div. This unit was demobilized in April 1919 at Ft. D.A. Russell, Wyoming. Private Marre was honorably discharged on April 28, 1919 due to demobilization. He married
Lora Ozell Miller in 1930 and libved in Bardwell, KY until 1, Jan., 1958 moving to East Point, GA where he lived out the reminder of his life. He had three children, Teresa Ann Marre (marrying Harley Moore), Lucille Marre (marring Carol Renfroe), and Daniel Leward Marre who served in Viet Nam. Mr. Marre died in the VA Hospital in Decatur, GA (Atlanta facility) on 21, January, 1963 and is buried in the National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.

Korean War

MINTON, Marvin A.
Born in Echols County Georgia in 1935
Enlisted in U S Navy as a seaman recruit August 1953 and discharged as a First Class Petty Officer June 1959.
Served on three ships: USS Pickaway APA222, USS Nimble MSO 459 and USS Noble MSO 460, and on the Flag Staff of Commander In Chief Pacific Fleet.
