| Organized in 1930 with C. M. Hart as the first pastor; charter members of Haywood Baptist Church included Mr. and Mrs. John Walker, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Stewart, Mrs. Mae Stewart Tuten, and Mrs. Lula King. The building was obtained from the Methodist Charge and used until 1937, when a new building was constructed. The sanctuary was renovated in 1950 and the old building made into an educational facility. In 1968, the educational building was enlarged with kitchen and dining area included. The baptismal pool and choir loft were added. |
