1870 Federal Census

The 1870 Webster County census was transcribed by Sherry Osburn in 1997. It is included in the Webster County GAGenWeb with her gracious permission.

The 1870 Census date was June 1, 1870. The census collected the following information about all people:

• Name
• Age
• Sex
• Color
• Profession, occupation or trade of each person, male or female
• Value of real estate owned
• Value of personal estate owned
• Place of birth
• Father's place of birth
• Mother's place of birth
• Month born, if within the year
• In school this year
• Can't read
• Can't write
• Deaf, dumb, blind, insane or idiotic
• For males, whether eligible to vote or not
