I am seeking information on Charles F. SPORMAN Jr., who was the son of Dr. Mac Price SPORMAN and Ina HEARN of Headland, Alabama. Charles F. SPORMAN Jr.
married a girl named Margaret, I do not know what her maiden name was. Their children were David and Alice SPORMAN. I believe that Charles Frederick
SPORMAN may have moved to Floyd County Georgia from Henry County Alabama. That is how his children were in Rome Georgia. Also interested to know if there
may have been a William ANDREWS SPORMAN or at least his children that also relocated to Rome Georgia.

I am looking for information on Josiah Nations and family. Josiah was born approx 1812 in SC. He was married and in the Cass Co., GA 1850 census, it appears
he is married to Leah and had the following children: Martha, Delpha, Nancy, Pamela or Penniza, Elizabeth, James, Barry, Rachel, George and Belzz. In the
Floyd Cty 1870 census, it shows Fair Nation as head of the household of these same children. I'm not sure about the difference in names. Evidently Josiah had
passed away. I believe there are records showing that Josiah served in the Civil War and may have been killed. I'm not sure. I want to know who James Nation
married. I believe he may be the father of Adolphus Nation, my husband's grandfather. I would appreciate any help and information.

I am seeking parents and exact birth place of Frederick Thomas Griffin who married Amanda
Swilling in Floyd County, GA on Dec. 28, 1858. They had two daughters, Olivia and Gertrude.
Frederick served in the Civil War and died in 1865, in Floyd Co. of "Disease". On every
record I find for him, he gives his birthplace as "SC". I know that his wife Amanda came
from near Anderson, SC. I believe he may have been from the same area. Amanda's family (her
father was James Swilling Jr.) moved to Floyd County approximately 1850. I am guessing
Frederick was from the same area of South Carolina and may have followed Amanda to Georgia.
I cannot find him as a member of any family in Floyd County on the 1850 Census, so I am
guessing he came after 1850 but before 1858. We came to Rome last fall to research this
family and the Morris family. We hope to return to Rome this spring for more research. My
husband's mother, Ruth Morris Brooks, is buried in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. She grew up in Rome
and attended Shorter College.

I would like to contact anyone researching the Erasmus BEARDEN (b. 1800 SC) family who show
up on the 1860 Floyd county census in dwelling #1048, Mathis (?) Dist. I am wondering if the

d. during civil war) who was born in either GA, SC, or TN. After I started going through
census stuff and old records, I found something to the effect that he met his wife, Passey
Ann GOODE, in Atlanta (though her family was from B'ham).
