Maureen Poole Riggs - 12/25/00
I am trying to locate information on my father. He died in 1989. He was never legally adopted. His name was Raymond Otis
Poole. His last name he took from the foster family he lived with. He was taken in by the Poole family after he and his
older brother Tom {he was placed with another family with the last name of Orr}. were placed in an orphanage in Chattanooga.
He was born April 6th 1914 in Dalton. There have been a few names mentioned. I am not sure what his last name was. Killian,
Cooksey, or Black. His father we were told was a doctor. His father was killed in WWI and his mother and sister died of
influenza in the early twenties. There are no records on him in Atlanta at the Division of Vital Statistics under those
names. My understanding is the only place they would have these are the county seat.

WELLS, Seeking information on my ggrandmothers family from Whitfield County, Ga. Her name was Mary Bell Wells (b2-28-1909,
but this is not positive because by the time she needed to apply for social security she was unsure and this was her sons
best guesstament) She married Willy David Hughes on May 30, 1925. I have her parents as Glenn and Amanda Wells also from
Whitfield County. I know she had at least two full siblings, Bessie and Charlie Wells and a Half sister named Arlene. Any
and all help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Just a note, it is also told in my family that she had a sister who
married her husbands brother, so one of her sisters would have married a man with the last name of Hughes as well. My
grandmother tells me that made all the children "Double Cousins". However, my grandmother is aging and has problems with
memory now and I cannot get any further information from her, and I am not positive on this fact about the sister.

I am trying to find some trace of JAMES B. BOSTICK and his wife, SARAH, who were supposedly in Whitfield Co, Trickum
District, around the time of the 1870 census. (I have been told that their names appeared on that census, ages in their
60's, both born in SC.) They had a number of children (Elizabeth married Louis Evans, Lucinda married Joshua Brown, William,
Richard, Caswell, Martha, John, and James). Some of them went to Florida in the late 1800's; some remained in SC; and some
remained in GA, possibly Whitfield Co. Our ancestor was James Napier Bostick married to Elizabeth Louvenia Wells - James
Napier may have been a son of James B. and Sarah. Does anyone out there recognize these names? Any info would be greatly
appreciated - we are trying to see if James B. is in our line.
