Becky Piper - 06/13/05 I am doing research on my paternal ancestors. I am desperately seeking info on my Great-Great Grandfather John Wesley Martin ( J W Martin) he was born in Whitfield Co in 1839. He served in the confederacy 39th GA Co B. I have found a pension application from his widow ( he moved to Ky and married in 1871) I'm not sure what year he moved, however, on her pension app she stated his brother Mell C Martin lived in Atlanta in 1913. He gave a witness statement and he said he was a Sgt. Major in 34th Georgia Regiment Sam's or Saw's ? Brigade. I have been unable to locate any info on him or this particular martin family via census records and cannot find Mell on any rosters. I would appreciate any info you might have or any suggestions.
Carolyn - 05/16/05 Looking for info. on William A. Jones aka Tinker Jones. William is the son of Rebecca Jones. He was in the 1900,1910 Polk Co. TN. census. Wife is Mary Woods Jones. I need death info. and cemetery. If any one knows this name PLEASE write me. William is my gguncle.
Jo Anne Gomez - 04/09/05 searching for information on my great great grandparents Terrel T. McClellan(d) and Mary Melita Musidore Longwith. I found them in the Lake County, TN census and so had been searching in that area and then was led to information in Catoosa or Ringwold, GA and also Bradley and Cleveland TN. Recently while looking at records again I found some information indicating I've been looking in the wrong place. Here is the information that I found: I am looking for a copy of marriage license for Terrill T. McCleland to M.M. McCleland 20 Sep 1873 Whitfield County, GA -- information found on the LDS website and source stated as being "Marriage Records 1852-1906 Whitfield County, GA. Any information on either of these families MCLELAN(D)/MCLELLAN(D)/MCCLELAN(D)/MCCLELLAN(D) and LONGWITH would be appreciated. Interesting to me that I viewed much information on Walker families as my grandmother and great grandmother both mentioned my Mary Melita Musidore Longwith's siblings with names such as Wiley Walker Longwith and others with middle name of Walker and O'Dell. Appreciate any information.
