JONES, TERRELL, WINGFIELD posted by Anne Barrett Chamlee on Friday, January 24, 1997

TERRELL -- my gr gr gr gr gr grandparents, Peter Buford TERRELL,SR (1764 VA - 1821 Wilkes Co, GA) lived in Washington, GA, with his wife Penelopy JONES (1776 VA - 1827 Wilkes Co, GA). She is buried in the Terrell-Jones Cemetery just north of city (near dog pound) -- many graves no longer available for reading -- speculation exists as to whether Peter was buried there and whether or not his father, William TERRELL (d 1812) (m Frances WINGFIELD), is also buried there. Have been unable to determine where the "homeplace" was should (?) have been somewhere near the cemetery but nothing has been found to substantiate that. Interestingly, in 1801 or so, Peter and Penelopy were members of Sardis Baptist Church at Rayle. Any info will be appreciated.
