I am interested in George Gresham Jr., son of George Gresham who settled on Rocky Creek in 1785. George Gresham Senior had many children, some of whom were Thomas Gresham, George Gresham Jr., Benjamin Gresham, Kaufman Gresham, Dicy Gresham, Jane Gresham, Martha and others. My special interest is George Jr. I believe he might be the George Gresham who died in Lawrence Co., Tn. in 1852. George was born in Virginia in January of 1772, this we know for sure. I also know that George Gresham of Lawrence Co., Tn. was the father of 21 children by two different wives. My direct ancestor was a person by the name of John Haran Gresham who settled in Farmersville, Tx. after the Civil War. John's Mother had died in 1868 and John Haran was a Methodist Preacher who lived most of his married life in Maury County. The 1850 Census lists him as Grissom. John Haran Gresham was a Chaplain in the Civil War. He was the only surviving son of George Gresham's Second marriage to Ann(Nancy) Chaffin Gwin, a widow woman with two children of her own. If anyone can help me by telling me what happened to George Gresham Jr., son of George Gresham Sr. of Wilkes Co., Ga. please get in contact with me at the above address. Bobby G. Lane 1350 N. Rose Drive Stephenville, Tx. 76401
