The main memorial with the listing of those participating in the battle was reported to have been made using as the primary source a list made around the turn of the century. Recently there have been some names added to the marker.
Below is a transcription of all names of the participants taken from the monuments, plaques, and memorial markers that we have located in the Kettle Creek Battlefield Park.
Current information indicates that there are no actual burials at the Battlefield. Links are provided to images of individual memorial markers in the Battleground. These markers have reportedly been placed during the 1900s as memorials to those who are believed or confirmed to have fought here.
If Biographical Sketches have been provided, a link to it is also provided. (Use the BACK button on you Browser to return to this page from those linked pages.)
It is obvious that there may be other names to locate. If you have others to add, send them (with the source information, if possible) to Tom Hammack thammack@datasync.com
If you have a biographical sketch on any of the participants, we would like to list that information on a page.
THE PATRIOTS WHOES NAMES APPEAR ON THIS MARKER ARE THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN PROVED TO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE BATTLE OF KETTLE CREEK ON FEBRUARY 14, 1779.
