Speakers include:
Annette Atkins is a professor of history at St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict. She has recently written a unique and fascinating history of Minnesota entitled Creating Minnesota.
Deborah Miller is a reference specialist at the Minnesota Historical Society where she has worked for more than 30 years. Her specialties are labor relations and food. It is rumored she has more than 1000 cookbooks in her collection.
Mary Bakeman is a certified genealogist and owner of Park Genealogical Books. She was instrumental in establishing the Genealogy Help Desk at the Minnesota History Center and has recently published Trail of Tears: Minnesota's Dakota Indian Exile Begins.
Daniel Nützel is a German linguist teaching at the University of Regensberg, Germany. He was the editor and was very instrumental in the publication of Paul Kretsch's book The German-Bohemian Dialect Remembered.
The afternoon will conclude with our annual GBHS business meeting.
