Welcome to the Greene
County Historical Society's webpage! Based in Springfield, Missouri,
the Society was established in 1954 to foster and maintain an interest
in the history of Springfield and Greene County. Today the Society
meets this goal through programs, publications, projects, and other
outreach activities.
The Society's webpage
is designed to give visitors more information about the Society's
work. It also serves as a tool for finding other websites with useful
information about this region's history and culture.
Unfortunately, the Society's
volunteers cannot help with reference questions. We suggest you
visit our webpage on Local
Libraries and Archives to find help with your research needs.
