Please read the following guidelines below before requesting a Family Tree Record CD LookUp. These were requested to be created by the volunteers themselves. Genealogists should respect their terms. These CD listings are here by the generosity of the Owner/Volunteer. This web site or the volunteers below are NOT associated with Family Tree Maker!

Use the "Family Finder Index" located at Family Tree Maker's Family Finder Index to get the CD # for your ancestor name listed. If your ancestor's name isn't found in the Family Finder Index on a CD, then please don't ask the volunteer's to check for you. They get quite a few lookup requests and may not have the time to search their CD's for your ancestor.

DO NOT send a request to more than ONE CD volunteer for each CD. They do not like to duplicate or work on the same request. EXAMPLE: Jane, Joe & June are listed as volunteers for Ohio Vital Records #1 CD #175. Send a lookup request to Jane. Wait for your reply email from Jane. If you were not satisfied with her findings, then try the next available volunteer with your request. Do not ask ALL three of them at once.

Limit ONE email request per week per volunteer. Some volunteers have multiple listings on this web site. This helps prevent them from getting overloaded with requests from the same person(s). They often get several requests daily and it will slow down their replies back if the same person(s) keep submitting several requests daily/weekly. If by chance you submit multiple CD requests to the same volunteer; your multiple requests may be postponed on being answered until they are caught up with the ones they recieved before you.

Please, NO general surname searches (EXAMPLE: All Smiths on the CD. If you do ask for a general surname search, the volunteer has every right to ignore your request.
