A Beginner's Place to Start
This club is designed to assist you in your search for your ancestors. After searching through here and the main links section of the website, you still have questions, please do not hesitate to email me. I receive lots of emails every day so it may take a few days to respond to yours. Please be patient.
If you are completely new to genealogy and do not know how to begin, then check out the following article written by RootsWeb.. At the end of this page are also links to other resources on how to begin the wonderful journey of finding your ancestors.
The first step would be to post a message in the club room. I would give the surnames and the locations of the ancestors you are looking for. Keep checking back for any replies. Also if you get stuck on a particular problem, don't hesitate to ask if anyone knows. We love to help when we can. Specific questions like "I have the birth date but can't seem to locate the record?" will be answered better than general questions like "how do I start".
You also need to search several databases to get a good idea of what information is out there and where to look. I would suggest the following sites to start off with
After searching through these databases then try some of the other links on our site.
Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!
