    Like many other family names, Akert is spelled differently in

various records and genealogies.  Achors, Akart, Acore, Acors and

Acord are common variations.

 

1.FREDERICK AKERT

 

    Frederick Akert was probably born in Germany and died in

Harrison County Va (WV) in 1795.  His will is recorded in Will

Book #1, page 45 at the Harrison County Court House.  He married Mary

Greathuse.  Mary was a daughter of Wilhelm and Barbara (Shatzin)

Greathuse.

    Known children of Frederick and Mary have been established

from marriage records in Harrison county.
