1.RAWLEIGH ALEXANDER

 

    Rawleigh Alexander died in Northumberland County VA in 1803. He was

twice married. His second wife was Elizabeth (----) Smoot, the widow of

Charles Smoot. After Rawleigh died, Elizabeth moved to Harrison County

VA. She probably died before 1811, as Thomas McWhorter was named

guardian of the Alexander children's property in 1811.

    Vincent Alexander, a son of Rawleigh and Elizabeth (---) [Smoot]

Alexander, was born in Northumberland County VA may 12, 1798 and died in

Lewis County VA (WV) August 6, 1861. He married Rebecca Estlack December

9, 1816. Rebecca, a daughter of Joseph and Hannah Lippencoat (Salisbury) Estlack, was born in 1794 and died in 1818.

He married Mary England August 19, 1819 and he married Mary

Winans March 15, 1821.

    George Washington Alexander, a son of Vincent and Mary (Winans)

Alexander, was born in VA in 1835 and died in 1890. He married Mary

(Osburn) Hurst in Lewis County VA October 4, 1857. Mary, a daughter of

Joseph and Mariah Osborn, was born in VA about 1835. She was the widow

of William Hurst.

    The family moved from Lewis County WV to MO about 1868.

    Emery Elsworth Alexander, a son of George Washington and Mary

(Osborn) [Hurst] Alexander, was born in Lewis County WV in 1866 and died

in 1940. Her married Gertie Cavitt. The family lived in Van Buren County

IA.
