James Miller
Armstead was born in VA about 1812. He
is
believed to have been a descendant of William Armistead,
who
emigrated from England to Jamestown, VA in 1634.
James married
Jeanetta Davis and the family moved from fluvana
County VA to Roane County VA (WV) in 1844.
James served
the Confederacy in the Civil War in the 22nd VA
Volunteer Infantry with five of his sons.

Jefferson Armstead was a son of James Miller and
Jeanetta (Davis) Armstead. He served the Confederacy in the
Civil War in the 22nd VA Volunteer Infantry. He married Synthia
Prudence Parker May 13, 1868.

July 2, 2004.
