I am researching the descendents of William Kinney and his wife Caroline Daily. He came from Canada about 1853 and was in the sugar business. I have found a lot of info about him. He was well know in Hawaii. By Caroline he had to children William Ansel and Minnie. William Ansel was an attorney and active when Hawaii became a State, he was in the sugar business and married Alice McBryde. They had a least one son named Ansel born 1898. I believe he was a chemist and may have lived in the USA. I'm looking to find any descendents of Ansel. Minnie married Philip Dodge. They were educators who were teaching in Japan when William he died in 1915. I have found no further information on them. I have found some recent obits from Hawaii which leads me to believe there are descendents of William Kinney still living in Hawaii. Thank you. Wendell

Query into HEALEY and THORSEN ancestors I am attempting to research my ancestors on Maui. I was born Honolulu, 1940. My mother, Margaret Elizabeth Thorsen, was born Maui, March 1909, daughter of Gustave Thorsen (born Norway Sep. 1867). The following is being surmised from census records- the Thorsens, my grand-parents, died in the Flu Epidemic. Thorsen immigrated about 1891 from Norway, married Elizabeth Healey, born Maui abt. 1885. She was daughter of Charles Healey, born California abt. 1862, immigrant to Hawaii abt. 1880. Charles married a daughter of SILVA, a Portuguese immigrant. She maybe died before Apr 1900 as Charles is recently married to another woman at 1900 census. My mother, in the 1920 census, is listed as grand-niece of John Silva, of Portugal; and, in the 1930 census, niece of Edmund Daniels. Looking for the following:   Marriage and Death record: _______ SILVA, wife of CHARLES HEALEY Death record: CHARLES HEALEY, b. ca. 1862, California Birth and Death records: ELIZABETH HEALEY THORSEN, b. ca. 1885, Maui Death record: GUSTAVE THORSEN, b. Sep. 1867, Norway. I thank you for any help you may offer in this search. All this is new to me as my mother never spoke of any relatives, only that she was raised in Catholic boarding school. It had been assumed that both her parents were from Norway. My father was in the Navy when he met and married my mother in Lahaina in 1934. We moved to California- left on 5 Dec 1941. Father was on carrier out at sea from Pearl two days later. Jack Nelson, Arizona
