[Greenfield Public Library Genealogy Section]

The Adair County Anquestors Genealogy Society was founded 1973 to exchange ideas and information on genealogical research. The Anquestors are a chapter of the Iowa Genealogy Society. Meetings are held at the Greenfield Public Library the 4th Saturday of March through November. Annual dues are $6 per person or $8 per couple. If interested in joining, contact Anquestors at the address above. All members receive a newsletter which is published quarterly. Each newsletter contains valuable genealogical data for research from Adair County, Iowa.

Need some help with research? Send queries to the address above. Prompt attention will be given to all queries. A research fee may be charged, if so, you will be informed in advance.

Meetings are held at the Greenfield Public Library at 1:30 PM (unless alternate location is noted below or is published in the Adair County Free Press and Fontanelle Observer and given on radio station KSIB during Greenfield and Adair County news).

March 28	Using DNA in Genealogy Roll Call: Share how DNA evidence might help you with your genealogy.
April 25	Planning for a Research Trip to the Historical Building Roll Call: Bring information you might like to look up at the Historical building.
May 23	Tour of the Hitchcock House in Lewis (Tentative) Roll Call: Share one piece of information you know about underground railroad homes.
June 27	A Tour of Mt. Pisgah (Tentative) Roll Call: Tell about a Mormon ancestor.
July 25	A Trip to the Historical Building in Des Moines Roll Call: Bring dates, etc. that you would like to look up at the Historical Building.
August 22	Trip to the Iowa Genealogical Library (Tentative) Roll Call: Plan what you'd like to look for at the Iowa Genealogical Library.
September 26	They Died So Our Nation Might Live (Civil War Program) (Tentative) Roll Call: Tell about a Civil War ancestor.
October 24	Researching at the Greenfield Library Roll Call: Bring names, dates, etc. that you'd like to look up at the Greenfield Library.
November 21 11:15 AM	Location: Old Hotel Program planning for 2010 Roll Call: Bring a program idea.
