Research
Inquiries for research are answered by the volunteer members. Our library is staffed entirely by volunteers who help researchers when you visit the library. Fees in person are 30 cents per copy. Research may also be done through the mail.
For research done through the mail, please send a check for $25.00 for 3 hours research, made out to the "Buchanan County Genealogical Society" and a stamped self address 9 X 12 inch manila envelope to start research. Enclose a letter giving as much information that you know about the person or persons you would like researched, and what type of information you are looking for. If we spend over 3 hours doing a look-up we will contact you before any information is sent, so please include a E-Mail address or phone number.
If you only want a couple obits, E-mail us first and tell us who you want the obit for, we will look, if we have it on file, we will E-mail you back, and tell you how much it will cost. The fee for this is $5.00 plus $0.30 for each obit, up to five obits per letter.
