LEE, George; Farmer; Sec. 14; P. O. Grinnell; born in Macon Co., Ill., Aug. 9, 1839; came to this State in 1859, and located in Jasper Co. in 1877.  Mary P. FORD, his first wife, had three children—Saphrona, born Oct. 8, 1867; R. D., March 18, 1869; Conway B., March 31, 1863.  Married for his second wife, Elizabeth SHAW Dec. 25, 1877; she owns 60 ½ acres of land, valued at $1,200; her children by a former marriage—Mary Jane, born Nov. 24, 1855; Frank F., April 19, 1859; George L., Oct. 16, 1863; James V., Nov. 11, 1869; Harriet E., May 31, 1871; Andrew J., Nov. 24, 1873.  George LEE enlisted in the 18th I. V. I. In July, 1862; served three years; was in the battles of Springfield, Mo., Sugar Grove, Mo., Poison Springs, etc.

MASON, Louis F.; Farmer; Sec. 9; P. O. Grinnell; born in Centre Co., Penn., March 8, 1841; came to Jaser[sic] Co. in Aug., 1847; owns 506 acres of land, valued at $30 per acre.  He is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and is a Republican in politics.  His wife, Jennie R. RHONE, was born in the same county Aug. 28, 1843.  Married in 1865; their children are Verbena G., born Aug. 8, 1866; Robert S., June 24, 1870; Mary B., Nov. 21, 1874; Charles R., Sept. 23, 1877.  Mr. MASON enlisted in the Union army Dec. 19, 1861, and served with the Army of the Potomac till the termination of the war, and was mustered out July 4, 1865.  Mr. MASON does farming on an extensive scale, and is a very good business man, understanding farming in all its details.

MILLGATE, George; Farmer; Sec. 34; P. O. Grinnell; born in England in 1850; came to this country in 1871, and to this county in 1875; he owns eighty acres of land, valued at $10 per acre.  He is a bachelor, and appears to be a very industrious young man.

MURRAY, Thomas; Farmer; Sec. 11; P. O. Grinnell; born in Scotland Nov. 13, 1845; came to this country in 1853, and to this county in 1876; owns eighty acres of land, valued at $40.  He is a Republican in politics.  Isabella Jane TURNBULL, his wife, was born in Stark Co., Ill., Dec. 10, 1849; were married Feb. 10, 1869; have three children—George A., born Feb. 18, 1870; Bertie, Oct. 20, 1874; William J., Dec. 8, 1876.  Mr. MURRAY enlisted in Co. F, 124th Ill. V. I., Feb. 13, 1864; was at the siege of Spanish Fort thirteen days and nights, and in several battles.  He has a fine farm, well-cultivated, and a pleasant home.

LUMLEY, was born in Iona, Canada, in 1855.  Mr. PARK is an intelligent farmer and a good business man.

Kellogg; born in Worcester, Mass., Sept. 21,1825; came to this county in 1868.  Owns eighty acres of land, valued at $30 per acre.  His wife, Clarissa CLARK, was born in the same place, April, 1832.  Married in 1849; they have nine children, Ellen, Emma, John, Frank, Lucy, Carrie, George, Charles, William.
