H. A. Junod

This is a likeness of one of the foremost enterprising and progressing citizens of Carroll County.  He has been a member of the firm of Junod & Culbertson for the past ten years.

Mr. Junod was born in Athens County, Ohio September 15th, 1854.  He acquired his early education in the district schools.

Giving up school teaching he embarked in the Lumber Business and later was connected with the General Merchandise Business after which he acted as salesman for the Sunday Creek Valley Coal Company.

In 1885 he came to Carroll associating himself with Mr. E. D. Vorhees engaging in the Grain and Coal Business.  In 1887 Mr. R. V. Culbertson purchased the interest of Mr. Vorhees and the firm became Junod & Colbertson under which caption it still remains.
