WILLIAM M. FRENTRESS was born in Jo
Davies county, Ill., December 12, 1837, but reached Iowa April 8, 1866, and has
lived in this state ever since. In 1864 he had made a trip to Montana, where he
passed six months and met with some prosperity in mining, and then return to Illinois,
and, October 30,1865, married Miss Mary V. Hull,
daughter of William and Catherine Hull, natives of Virginia and of English descent
on the paternal side and of German descent on the maternal side, Catherine Hull
having borne the maiden name of Meyers. Mrs. Mary V. Frentress
was born
To William
M. and Mary V. Frentress were born seven children,
namely - Henry N., April 16, 1867; Lucy A., July 26, 1869; Frank L., March 3 , 1872;
Carrie A., January 6, 1874; Katie, who was born February 6, 1878, and who
died in March of the same year; Frederick T., born April 17,
1881; Mary V., born April 14, 1883.
Mr. Frentress is highly esteemed wherever known, and has been called
upon to fill various township offices by his republican fellow-citizens. He is
a member of the A. O. U. W., and his purse is
always open to aid his fellows in need.
