Fred C. Kleinsorge
Fred C. Kleinsorge, a well known and representative citizen of Richland township,
is actively engaged in the real-estate business at Dundee and has met with gratifying success
in this connection. His birth occurred in Waterloo, Black Hawk county,
Iowa, on the 2d of
October, 1876,
his parents being August and Mary (Wegman) Kleinsorge, both of whom were natives of Germany. The mother emigrated
to America with her parents in 1854, and the
father came to this country about the same time, settling on a farm in Clayton
county, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. August Kleinsorge
now make their home at Lamont, this state, and their children are ten in
number.
Fred C. Kleinsorge acquired a common-school education in his youth and
remained under the parental roof until twenty-two years of age. He then embarked
in the lumber business at Dundee, Iowa, conducting an enterprise of that character for a
period of thirteen years or until he sold out to Richter & Thiel. Subsequently he turned his
attention to the real-estate business and has been successfully engaged therein
to the present time.
In early
manhood Mr. Kleinsorge was united in marriage to Miss
Erma M. Heyer, a daughter of George Heyer, of Coffins Grove township,
this county. Our subject gives his political allegiance to the republican party, while his religious faith is that of the
Lutheran church, to which his wife also belongs. He is interested in all that
pertains to the material and moral development of the community and is regarded
as one of Richland township's most respected and
valued citizens.
