W. A. W. KRESENSKY, M. D.

Dr. W. A. W. Kresensky is one of the well known and successful physicians and surgeons of Greeley, Iowa, where he has engaged in the practice of his profession for a number of years. He was born in Algona, Kossuth county, Iowa, September 12, 1887, a son of Julius and Helena Kresensky, both natives of Germany. They came to this country when their son, the subject of this review, was but a child and are still living in Kossuth county, this state. Of the ten children born to their union eight survive.

Dr. Kresensky remained at home until he was of age and received the advantages of a common-school education. He was graduated from the local high school when eighteen years old and then matriculated in the medical department of the State University of Iowa, from which he was graduated when twenty-two years old. He was subsequently for one year interne in the University Hospital at Iowa City and in 1911 he came to Greeley, where he began the private practice of medicine. In the three years that have elapsed since his arrival here he has established himself as a physician and surgeon of ability and has not only won the confidence of his patients but the respect of his colleagues. In addition to his representative and growing practice he is a member of the United States pension examining board. He realizes that to succeed in his profession one must remain a continual student of the science of medicine and he therefore keeps abreast of the latest discoveries in that field. His present attainments and achievements are but the indication of the greater success that his friends predict will be his as the years pass.

Dr. Kresensky was married in 1911 to Miss Pressie Mather, of Iowa City, and to them has been born a daughter, Florence H., whose natal day was March 4, 1912. The Doctor is a democrat in his political belief and is taking an active part in public affairs. He is committeeman from his district and is also one of the town councilman. Fraternally he belongs to Lodge No. 225, A. F. & A. M., and conforms his life to the teachings of the craft.
