Frank J. Seger has spent his entire life on the farm which he now owns and operates, the property embracing one hundred and sixty acres of
rich and productive land on section 15, Oneida township.  His birth occurred on the 23d of September, 1872, his parents being L.J. and Sarah
(Akens) Seger, both of whom were natives of New York.  They came to this county in 1854, the father entering a quarter section of government land in Oneida township and erecting a sod house thereon. His demise occurred in 1887, after a period of residence here covering a third of a century, and the community thus lost one of its honored pioneer agriculturists and esteemed citizens.

In the acquirement of an education Frank J. Seger attended the common schools. His father died when he was but fifteen years of age, and he subsequently took charge of the home farm, later purchasing the property. The place comprises one hundred and sixty acres of land on section 15, Oneida township, and its owner has enhanced its attractiveness and value by the erection of commodious and substantial buildings. He has
won a gratifying and well merited measure of success in his undertakings as an agriculturist and is also engaged in auctioneering, being much in demand in this capacity.

In 1896 Mr. Seger was united in marriage to Miss Eurena B. Allen, who was born in Delaware county, Iowa, on the 11th of August, 1871, her
parents being Richardson and Sarah E. (Whiting) Allen, natives of Canada. They crossed the border into the United States about 1867, locating in Delaware county, Iowa, and here the father passed away. The mother, however, is still living. Richardson Allen was twice married, having nine children by his first wife and eight by his second, and seven of the latter are yet living. Mr. and Mrs. Seger have five children, as follows: Stella B., born August 11, 1897, who is now a high-school student; Cecil S., whose birth occurred on the 15th of February, 1899, and who also attends high school; Benita E., whose natal day was February 18, 1902; Madeline, born March 18, 1904; and Dorothy L., whose birth occurred August 24, 1910.

Mr. Seger gives his political allegiance to the republican party and is now serving as township assessor, while for eight years he held the office of township clerk, ever discharging his public duties in an able and praiseworthy manner. His religious faith is indicated by his membership in the Congregational church. In the community where they have spent their entire lives, Mr. and Mrs. Seger have won many friends who highly esteem and honor them for their many good qualities of mind and character.
