Clyde W. Springsteen 

MEDIAPOLIS - Clyde W. Springsteen, 87, Burlington Care Center, died Sunday, 
January 4, at Burlington Medical Center. 

He was born Aug. 26, 1893, in Des Moines County, to Bumer and Bead Moyer 
Springsteen. He married Goldie Van Est in 1950 in Burlington. 

He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a 
veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion. 

Surviving: The wife, Burlington; daughter Clair Bessine, Mediapolis; son Jerry 
Woods, Mediapolis; step daughter Rosellen Chockley, Burlington; and eight 
grandchildren. 

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Burlington Seventh- Day Adventist church, pastor 
Marvin Lowman: Bazel Cemetery north of Burlington. A memorial has been 
established for the church. Fry Chapel is in charge.
