OLD DANVILLE CEMETERY
thanks to Becke Dawson
You will find OLD DANVILLE CEMETERY in DANVILLE TOWNSHIP, DES MOINES COUNTY, IOWA (Section 21 - North East corner). It is North of 703 South Main, Danville, Iowa.
This cemetery is no longer used - all that was left in 1967 was a large monument "JAGGER" and a pile of broken head and foot stones.
One of those headstones was dated 1842. This cemetery was originally in back of the old Congregational Church.
** Tradition** It is said that the bodies were moved to JAGGER CEMETERY. Also said, they were not. Only one stone in JAGGER CEMETERY has been found with the same information.
