John's Creek Cemetery
Section 2, Cascade Township - (Abandoned)

The Johns Creek M. E. Church was built in 1860 and dedicated in 1861. The frame work was done by Newell Austin of Cascade and the inside finished by Hy Taggart. The estimated cost was $400.

The leading members at the time of church erection were: Wm. Preston and wife; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Redmond; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tate; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Baker; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Morgan; Thomas Baker; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ganfield; and Mrs. H. Rogers.

The approximate location of the unmarked graves was pointed out to Stuart Higgs by his father's uncle, Clarence Martin and his father's cousin Eva Bevan; formerly of Cascade, Iowa.
