The original Linwood Cemetery, 20 acres, was bought of Langworthy and Davis in 1875. Later nineteen more acres were purchased by Mr. Levi. In October, 1875, the citizens voted on the question of turning Linwood cemetery over to a private association, as follows: for sale, 697; against sale, 308. In 1876, $10,000 was spent on the cemetery.
