Hours:  Sunday - Friday, 1 - 5 p.m.

The Ackley Heritage Center is located in the upstairs of the Ackley Municipal Building at the corner of State and Main streets.  Started in 1938, the Heritage Center serves as a center to collect and preserve artifacts and memorabilia of Ackley and the immediate area.  Emphasis is placed on the period from the 1850s to the present.

Among the items on display are photos, books and videos, including two generations of photographs of the Limburg House.  There is also an Ostfriesland display, some collections from the early years of druggists and doctors in town and pictures and memorabilia of the railroads.  There is also period furniture and clothing.

Persons interested in joining the Heritage Center may join by pledging a membership, $10 per family or $5 per individual.  Ackley Heritage Center meetings are normally held the first Thursday of the month at the Center at 7:30 p.m.   The group welcomes new members.
