April 11,
2007
Dear Friends and members
Spring is here and it is time for our annual spring
clean-up day and quarterly meeting.
It will be held
April 22 starting after 12:30 at the museum or when you can make it, working
outside and inside.
The business meeting and refreshments will be held after
some cleaning has been done. The depot will need to be
ready for our Pancake Breakfast. In case
of rainy weather there is still plenty of work to do
inside the buildings. Area 1 will
furnish the refreshments.
It’s time to finalize plans for our annual pancake
breakfast and bake sale to be held on May 6th . We
need everyone to help with the plans and to help at the pancake breakfast on
opening day. Even if you can only help at the
breakfast for a short time please stop by and pitch in. We
will also need items for the Bake Sale.
Edinburgh Day will be Sunday August 26.
We will also start to discuss items for that day. We will also need to discuss any special
Sunday’s that we will hold this summer.
We will have some projects going on this summer so if you
would like to volunteer, let us know. See other sheet explaining some of
the projects. There will also be some
other maintenance projects to work on this summer.
So please come – bring your rakes – brooms and dust
cloths, and we will have a good time cleaning. Most of
the leaves have been taken care of. If you have signed
up to take care of one of the buildings let Byron Freese know if you need
anything for the cleanup process. If you would like to
sponsor a building to keep clean during the summer you can sign up at the
meeting.
We will need volunteers to
sign up to host the museum on Sunday afternoons. If
you are new at this, you can team up with someone else to get
acquainted with how this is done.
Thank you for paying your
dues this year. If you have not paid your dues lately
please note the year in the right hand corner of your mailing address. This is the last year that your dues were paid.
We will need help hosting 2 school visits this spring in the mornings of:
May 4 – Cascade 7th grade.
May 17 – Anamosa Strawberry Hill 3rd
grade.
Thank
you for those who have renewed their membership.
