Malin, Richard H. (p. 526)
He married Anna McFarland, the daughter of William and Martha (Connors) McFarland, on 27 February 1890. Anna was one of nine children: James R., Garnett, Kansas; Lena m. S.P. Telford of Whitney, Iowa; William of Washington Co., IA; John; Iva m. A.H. Essley of Washington, IA; Edward G.; Maida m. WIlliam Sampson, of Davenport, IA; and Etta.
Mr. and Mrs. Malin had one daughter Myra b. 26 December 1898.
Marsden, Walter F. (p. 555)
On January 22, 1902, Mr. Marsden married Nellie McRoberts, daughter of David and May (Smith) McRoberts. Mrs. Marsden was the eldest of seven children. The others were: Walter; Robert, of Kansas; Hilt, a veterinary of Ames, Ia; ALice; Elsie m. WIlliam McFadden ofg Washington Co.; and Ernest.
Mr. and Mrs. Marsden had two childeren: Harry, b. 17 April 1905; and Hilda b. 30 October 1906.
Marshall, J.L. (p. 525)
Mr. Marshall married in 1892 to Dora Brown, a daughter of J.K. and Ellen Brown
Mr. Marshall was married the 23 January 1880 to Annie Ireton, daughter of Obadiah and Elizabeth (Mottsinger ) Ireton. There were six Ireton children: William; Jennie m. Grank Huffman of S.D.; Joseph; Spencer and Cora
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall had no children of their own, but adopted a son James Hilton Marshall.
Mr. Marshall was a bachelor in 1912 and two of his sisters lived with him.

Matthews, Homer A. (p. 18)
Homer served in the Civil War. On 13 ASugust 1875, he married Caroline Kimble, a native of Catlin, N.Y., a daughter of Nathaniel and Mry (Bush) Kimble, also natives of N.Y. They migrated to Boone Co., Illinois in 1851 and in 1874 moved to Louisa Co. where the mother died 16 August 1874 and the father on the 9 September 1875. There were three children: PIney, m. J.W. Willard and lived in Crook, Colorado; Caroline who married Mr. Matthews; and Ansel W.
Mr. and Mrs. Matthews had six childen: Frank H. b. 22 September 1876; Ella, b. 12 August 1878 m. M. Sillick; Lena E. b. 3 September 1880; Edgar A. b. 1 July 1882; Emily M. b. 20 February 1884; and Hiram Leroy b. 1 October 1886.
Mr. and Mrs. Matthews had four children; Emily A.,died in infancy; SOlomon; Charles F. and Fannie,m. J.A. WIlliams of Oakville, IA.
May, H.P. (p. 472)
On 30 December 1855, Mr. May married Lydia Jeffreys, who was born in Union Co., Pennsylvania 24 February 1835, daughter of Mifflin and Jane Jeffreys, both natives of Pennsylvaniea. Mr. Jeffreys (also Jefferis and Jefferies) came with his family to Iowa in 1854. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. May, five of whom are named in the history book: : H.S.; Eva m. W. L. Ayers; Clara, m. Charles Whitney , of Clinton, Iowa; John, and H.L. (below).
