Oats, Ira A. (p. 190)
On the 12 December 1894; he married to Gertrude Smyley, the daughter of Joseph Taylor and Ella (Orris) Smyley. Gertrude had a brother Robert.
Mr. and Mrs. Oats had three children: Reuben A., b. 7 September 1895; June V. b. 7 September 1898; and Ruth V. b. 31 December 1905
Ochiltree, Thomas J. (p. 493)
Thomas was one of nine children, but only two brothers named in the historical account: Marshall; and Henry M., lived in Haddam, KS.;
Thomas J. Ochiltree married ELizabeth Brown, also a native of Louisa County, on 27 June 1869. She was the daughter of J.C. and Mary J. Brown.
Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ochiltree: Stanley; Jennie, m. A.J. Pooley, of Chicago; William T.; and two who were deceased.
Ohlwein, Conrad (p. 197)
On the 29 July 1869, he married Catharine Ohlwein, daughter of Christian and Elizabeth (Zeibert) Ohlwein. She was one of five children, the others being: John; Elizabeth, wife of Henry Ohlwein, who lived in Germany; Henry and Adam who remained in Germany.
Conrad and Catharine had eight children: Elizabeth; Annie, wife of Lee Hunt of New Boston,Illinois; John, also lived at New Boston; Henry lived at Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mary, wife of Charles Creaton of Oakville; Lizzie, married Fred Pulver, also of Oakville; Edward Conrad, of Oakville and one died in infancy.
Orchard, Anderson (p. 65)
On the 9 February 1843, he married Caroline Emrick, born in Mead Co., Kentucky on the 12 August 1828, the daughter of John and Rebecca(Legg) Emrick, her father, a native of Virginia and her mother of Kentucky. They moved to Brown Co., Illinois in 1830
Mr. and Mrs. Orchard had six children: Columbia Jane; Josephine, m. WIlliam Shewey, of Red Oak; John E., of California; Robert R., California; Lucinda, m. Robert Oberman of Des Moines Co.; Augusta, m. Henry Elliott, of Mouint Pleasant; Ella; Franklin, lived at Trenton, MO; Clara Bell, m. Charles Plunket, of California; Hugh A., Cedar Rapids; Eliza, m. John Musock, of Los Angeles; and Edith Mary , m. Grant Shutter of Morning Sun.
Orr, George W. (p. 201)
On 26 November 1868, Mr. Orr married Catharine Hines. They had two children: Carrie Izona, who married Frank Ulm, of Louisa Co. and had a daughter Mary Leona b. 24 September 1897; and Lizzie Irue m. J.A. Miller of Louisa Co. who had two children, George Connell, d. age of 22 mo. and Frank Darrow, b. 14 April 1911.
William and Mary Orr had the following children: Jane F.; John W. who died at Conesville, IA in 1886 at the age of seventy six years; Josiah J., Francis G., Robert H.; Mary, who died in infancy; Lucinda Adeline, who married Joseph Johnston of Columbus City; William W.; Esther Ann, m. James H. Johnston, and Nancy Jane, who m. David C. Hammel of Washington, IA. Jane F., the eldest of the children was married twice 1)Thomas J. Johnson, of Madison Co., Alabama and 2) John F. McConnell. She died in Louisa Co. at the age of eighty years.
Francis J. Orr was four years old when he moved to Monroe Co., Tennessee with his parents. In 1846, he came to Columbus City township, Louisa Co., but thereafter purchased eighty acres near Crawfordsville, Washington Co. , IA in 1848. In 1852 he married Elizabeth J. Johnston and two years later lost his wife and an infant son. He lived with his brother W.W. Orr, until after the marriage of his son, Harvey E.. He died in 1896.
On 2 October 1878, Mr. Orr married Mahala Duncan. They had three children, two who survived: Gary and Ira. The mother of the children died 23 February 1885 at the age of twenty seven years. Mr. Orr married 2) 21 April 1887 to Mary E. Duncan, the daughter of James A. and Melinda J. Duncan. To them were born five children: Lulu; Eva; Helen; Harold; and Edith. Mrs. Orr was the sixth of nine chilren, the others were: Joseph; Margaret A., m. W.J. Grimes, of Allerton; Nancy J., m. Robert O. Johnson, of Garnett, KS; William, d. in infancy; Emma F., m. Isaac A. Endsby of Col. Jct.; Flora, m. W.D. Pyles of Col. Jct.; Lou m. W.E. Murdock and Charles R.
Otto, John Henry (p. 280)
On the 11 August 1859, Mr. Otto married Charlotte Annie Weckman, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Ringler) Weckman. She had a brother Frederick. Mr. and Mrs. Otto had eight children: Otto, the youngest d. in infancy; Henry; Edmund; George F.; WiIliam; Leona; Anna Charlotte, m. L.W. Gerth of Wyaconda, Missouri and Herman Peter.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto had three children: Helen M. b. 27 July 1897; one d. in infancy; and William, Jr. b. 8 March 1911.
