The Baptismal Records of the Church of God of Cairo, Louisa County, Iowa provides us with the name of the parishioner, his/her birthdate or age, where he/she was born and if previously baptized, where and when these occur. A few faded areas were difficult to read. Some areas were blank. The church was located in Marshall Township, Louisa County in the little town of Cairo. Only a few houses remain here today. The date converted has been omitted due to space considerations, but occasionally there were interesting entries such as: Long ago, Unknown, while most were precise in the date. Most of these people appear to be young with a few transferring from other locations. Some have only names with no data which I interpret to be members of the church for which more complete data was never obtained. In those days some older folks didn't really know their exact birthdate and only knew the season and the year they were born.
