P.D. Bailey was born in 1827 in Carrolton, Kentucky, son of John and Sarah Bailey. The family moved to Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, circa 1837, where P.D. was married in 1853 to Deborah T. Waterhouse. Deborah was born in 1832 in Trenton, New Jersey. By 1836 her family was at Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a classmate in Ohio of Benjamin Harrison, future President of the United States. After several moves, the family finally settled in Burlington, Iowa. P.D. Bailey died in 1912 at the home of his daughter in Boise, Idaho. Deborah Waterhouse Bailey died in 1905. Both are buried at Oakville. Deborah had four sons and three daughters: James M. Bailey born circa 1855; John Charles Bailey, born in 1857; Sarah Jane married A.M. Wilson; Amanda Elizabeth; William Samuel; Taylor L.; and Tirzah E., who married E.G. Erbes.

John Bailey, born 1857, son of P.D. and Deborah (Waterhouse) Bailey, married in 1880 at Oakville, Iowa to Annabeth Racer, daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Racer. They had 14 children: Marion Lester b. 1882 and married 1907 to Maude Williams; Marion died 1948 at Oakville, unknown child died before 1931; Louise R., married Ralph W. Meador; Harriet (Hattie) b.1889 in Louisa County, married Milo Baxterin 1912 in Oakville; Harry Lee, b. 1889, twin to Harriet, married Kathryn (?) and died in Iowa City in 1969: another unknown child died before 1931; Bruce L., born 1897, died 1924; Blanche, born 1897, married Frank James Swailes: another unknown child, died in 1902; Vertie O. married J.C. Sheridan; Ruby married Daniel Stewart.
John C. Briggs was born in England in March of 1824, the son of Edward and Maria (Baker) Briggs, who were both born in LIncolnshire, England. The family emigrated to America in 1844. John C. Briggs married 1)Mary Hutchin, daughter of Samuel Hutchin and Martha Shilcock on 24 June 1847 in St. Joseph Co., Michigan. Mary died 11 November 1850. They had two children: Charles Aaron b. in 1849, d. in 1850; and Edward Samuel, b. 23 September 1850 at Three Rivers, Michigan and was only six weeks old when his mother died. On 12 December 1852 at Constantine, Michigan, John C. m. 2) Sophia (Bennett) Church, daughter of George and Zilpha Bennett, widow of Isaac Church. She had one son by her first marriage: George Isaac Church b. 9 February 1850, the same year his father died.
John and Sophia (Bennett) Church had five children: Henry Augustus m. Cora Westlake: Zilpha Adelia; Mary Levanchia, m. William Browning Shellabarger, son of Thomas B. Shellabarger and Matilda Browning; John Wesley, m. Mary Smoke, daughter of Sam Smoke; Fred b. 6 August 1870.
John C. Briggs died 11 October 1907 and Sophia died 1 November 1919 and are both buried in Indian Creek Cemetery.

John W. Edwards was born 22 October 1810; died 21 January 1881. He was married 27 March 1831 to Catherine Blackston, who died on 12 December 1885. He married Jessie Rineley, dau. of David and Sarah Rineley on 4 October 1883. Marvel and Jessie had 13 children, the oldest, Pearl Edwaards b.13 February 1885 at Columbus Jct., Louisa Co., Ia. The family then moved to Kansas.

James and Nellie were married on Apr 26, 1892. Nellie's father's name was David Stephens b. 1836 in Canada d.1912 in Grandview. Her mother's name was Ruth McChesney b.Oct 13, 1848 d. 1936 in Grandview. They were married in Dec 1867 in Louisa County.
